A Commitment to Education and Personal Growth:

Alongside my guiding experience, I am a former member of the West Virginia University Fly Fishing Club and TU-Costa 5 Rivers, which have allowed me to expand my expertise and share knowledge with fellow anglers. My time as a volunteer instructor and guide, working under the mentorship of legendary fly fisherman Joe Humphrey, has helped refine my skills in fly tying, casting, and the use of various fly-fishing techniques, from nymphing to dry flies and streamers. Throughout my career, I’ve always strived to grow not just as a fisherman but as a teacher. Watching my clients and students succeed—whether it’s their first catch or mastering a new technique—has been one of the greatest rewards of being a guide. Each day on the water is a chance to learn, grow, and experience the thrill of fly fishing in beautiful settings.

A Passion that Began Early:

My journey in fly fishing began at a young age. Tying my own flies sparked an early fascination with the sport, and it wasn't long before I found myself fishing the waters of Western New York. From the Genesee River and Allegany River to Cattaraugus Creek, I learned to fish for a variety of species, including salmon, steelhead, bass, pike, and trout.

Guiding Experience Across the Country:

My guiding experience spans some of the most diverse and rewarding fly fishing waters in the U.S. From Montana’s legendary Missouri River to the beautiful trout streams of Western North Carolina and East Tennessee, I’ve had the privilege of sharing my knowledge with anglers of all skill levels. In Montana, I spent time as a fly-fishing guide on the Missouri River. This experience taught me the importance of creating not just a fishing trip, but a full experience, where education, fun, and satisfaction come together. Closer to home, I’ve guided anglers through the beautiful rivers around Asheville and Boone, North Carolina. The waters here are some of the most scenic and productive for fly fishing, with species like wild rainbow, brown, and brook trout populating the streams. Each of these rivers offers unique challenges and opportunities for anglers, and I take pride in helping clients understand the best techniques for success in these dynamic environments. Additionally, I’ve had the pleasure of fishing some of the renowned rivers in East Tennessee, including the Watauga and South Holston Rivers. Known for their trophy trout, these rivers offer exceptional opportunities for both beginner and experienced anglers. My time on these waters has broadened my knowledge of fishing in varied conditions and has allowed me to share techniques that lead to success in diverse river systems.
